Our Philosophy

At Essembli, we like to do things differently. We’re a company that believes experience, honesty and flexibility are the best ways to produce brilliant results for our customers. So we’ve put them right at the heart of our business.

We partner with you

Our team members aren’t just expert data crunchers. They will work as closely with you, as business partners. We provide guidance at every stage of the implementation process. We proactively identify problems before they arise. And we are continually looking for new solutions that will enhance your business.

We share risk with you

Partnering in business means being prepared to share risk. So that’s what we promise to do in our contracts. We always accept responsibility for delivering the parts of the project that are within our control on time and on budget, and we’re prepared to shoulder the consequences if we don’t.

We are transparent

Accountability builds trust. So we don’t outsource; we keep all our processes in-house. We’ll even grant you access to our internal issue-tracker (built with the open-source project management tool Redmine) so you can see exactly what we’re working on at any given time and why it’s pertinent to your project.

We are agile

Essembli uses a unique methodology for building and maintaining systems, developed in our work with the utility giant Energa. Read Our Story . By dividing projects into multiple parts — each one effectively a mini Waterfall — we can deliver each item independently and even out of sequence. We then use a mixture of Agile and Scrum for maintenance and ongoing development. This makes our implementations highly efficient and flexible. We can react very quickly when you need us to, delivering new requirements at short notice.

We are accessible

We are an international company that believes in the value of close working relationships. Our HQ is in Warsaw, just two hours’ flight time from London, and our business process is built around a blend of face-to-face contact — meetings, workshops — and rapid response by phone, video call and email: 24/7 if required. We also have extensive knowledge of the British and Irish markets, with a network of local consultants who work in and with British and Irish utilities.

Our Story

Essembli may be a relatively young company, but our roots in the utility sector run deep.

Many of us started our working lives with Infovide-Matrix and DahliaMatic, two of the best-known IT service management companies in Poland.

Through them we served some of the largest utility providers in the country, companies like Energa , a top-four energy firm with three million customers.

When Infovide was taken over in 2015, a group of key consultants and developers left to establish Essembli. We took on the Energa project, completing the implementation and delivering a suite of new functionalities for their CC&B system.

Working with Energa didn’t just give us a deep insight into the singular needs of the utility industry – and of how to build clear, reliable systems that function beautifully for staff and customers.

It was also where we developed the unique, utility-focused delivery approach that sets Essembli apart — a dynamic and highly flexible process that blends Waterfall, Agile and other methodologies to produce brilliant products and services for a complex market.

Thanks to the skills and experience Essembli has built up, we’ve seen excellent year-on-year growth. Now part of the Warsaw-based BlueSoft Group, we are supported by a workforce of nearly 600 engineers and consultants, more than 80 of whom are trained or experienced in CC&B. Our clients include oil and gas company PGNiG , one of Poland’s oldest and largest businesses, and Latvenergo , the largest energy supply service provider in the Baltics.

A brief history of Polish tech

From Google’s new Campus Warsaw to the 80m-strong social learning site Brainly, Polish technology development has become big news in recent years Poland on Track to Becoming A Major European Tech Startup Hub: Forbes, 2016 . Why the upsurge? One reason, perhaps, is that the country wasn’t always seen as a priority market for the international tech giants. So young developers had to take charge of their own skills acquisition, often learning on the job. You can still see that legacy playing out in Essembli today. We love new technology. And we encourage our developers to experiment with their own side projects. Some of them even make it into our suite of product innovations for customers.
